At Carezy (also referenced as "Carezyapp", "we", "us", or "our") we are committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about how we collect, use, share and store your information. This Privacy Policy applies to our mobile application, website and related services (collectively, the “Services”). By using the Services you accept the practices described in this policy.
1. Information We Collect
We collect information you provide directly and information automatically collected when you use the Services. Types of data we collect include:
Personal / Contact Information: Full name, phone number (including phone number linked to WhatsApp for notifications), email address, profile picture (if uploaded), and contact preferences.
Vehicle Information: Vehicle make, model, year, registration number, VIN, odometer readings, service records, health reports, uploaded documents and service history.
Payment Information: Subscription status and invoices. We do not store full card details on our servers; payment methods are processed through secure third-party payment providers. (See Payment below.)
Usage & Device Data: Device type, operating system, IP address, log data, in-app activity, crash reports and performance metrics collected to improve the App.
Location Data (Optional): If you permit, we may access location data to connect you with nearby garages or recovery services.
Cookies & Similar Technologies: For website analytics, personalization and to improve user experience.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use your information for the following purposes:
Service delivery: Send timely service reminders, WhatsApp notifications, vehicle health reports, and connect you with garages or recovery services when requested.
Account management: Create and manage your Carezy account, handle subscriptions and billing, and provide invoices and receipts.
Communications: Respond to support requests and send important updates via WhatsApp, email, or phone according to your preferences.
Display & features: Show vehicle history, health summaries and reports inside the App.
Analytics & improvement: Analyze usage to improve and customize features, fix bugs and enhance performance.
Security & fraud prevention: Protect our Services, detect and prevent abuse, and support legal investigations where required.
Legal compliance: Comply with applicable UAE laws and other legal obligations.
Marketing: Only where you have given consent. You can withdraw marketing consent at any time.
3. Legal Basis for Processing
Where required by law, our legal bases for processing personal data include:
Consent — when you opt in to optional features such as marketing or sharing with garages.
Contractual necessity — to provide the Services you requested (e.g., reminders, subscription management).
Legal obligation — to comply with laws and legal requests.
Legitimate interests — for fraud prevention, analytics, and to maintain the security and operation of our Services, where those interests are not overridden by your rights.
4. How We Share Your Information
We do not sell your personal data. We may share information as described below:
Authorized garages / service centers: With garages or partners only if you opt-in to allow scheduling or servicing, or when necessary to deliver requested services.
Service providers: With third parties who provide services on our behalf (payment processors, cloud hosting, analytics providers, WhatsApp API providers). These providers are contractually bound to protect your data.
Legal requirements: When required by law, regulation, subpoena, or similar legal process, or to protect our rights, property or safety (including investigating potential fraud).
Business transfers: In connection with a merger, acquisition, reorganization or sale of assets, we may transfer data; we will notify you and take reasonable measures to protect your data.
5. WhatsApp Notifications
By using the App you consent to receive notifications and reminders via WhatsApp where offered. We are not responsible for WhatsApp’s privacy or security practices — please review WhatsApp’s privacy policy for details. WhatsApp message delivery is subject to WhatsApp’s terms and may be affected by your messaging settings or carrier.
6. Payment & Billing
Payments are processed by trusted third-party payment providers. We do not store full payment card numbers on our systems. We retain payment records and invoices for legal and accounting purposes — payment records are retained for 7 years (or as required by applicable law).
7. Data Retention
We retain personal data only as long as necessary to provide Services, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes and enforce agreements. Specific retention rules include:
Account data and vehicle records: retained while you maintain an active Carezy account and for a reasonable period afterward to allow account recovery or to meet legal obligations.
Payment and invoice records: retained for at least 7 years to satisfy legal/accounting requirements.
If you request deletion, we will delete your personal data except where retention is necessary for legal compliance, dispute resolution, or legitimate business purposes.
8. Security of Your Information
We implement reasonable administrative, technical and physical safeguards such as SSL/TLS for data in transit, encrypted storage where appropriate, access controls and periodic audits. However, no system is completely secure. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials. Depending on your location, you may have rights in relation to your personal data, including:
Right to access the personal information we hold about you.
Right to request correction or update of inaccurate information.
